June 15, 2025 Crop Conditions
The USDA Crop Progress report for the week ending June 15 shows crops in mostly stable condition across major production regions. Corn and soybean emergence is nearly complete, while wheat harvest accelerates across the southern Plains. However, signs of stress are emerging in key states due to dry topsoil readings and uneven moisture distribution.
Crop Conditions Breakdown
Corn
Corn emergence reached 94% nationwide. Crop condition ratings for the week ending June 15 were 59% Good, 13% Excellent, 23% Fair, 4% Poor, and 1% Very Poor. The strongest ratings were seen in Iowa and Nebraska. Concerns remain in parts of Indiana and Ohio due to lower soil moisture and slower development.
Soybeans
Soybean planting is 94% complete with 83% of acres emerged. Conditions this week stood at 56% Good, 10% Excellent, 27% Fair, 5% Poor, and 2% Very Poor. North Carolina and Wisconsin reported top-tier early season stands, while Michigan and Ohio showed lagging vigor.
Spring Wheat
Spring wheat emergence reached 92%, with just 6% headed. Crop condition ratings for the 6 reporting states were 53% Good, 4% Excellent, 34% Fair, 9% Poor, and 0% Very Poor. Minnesota led with 84% Good, while Montana continued to struggle with over half its crop rated Fair and 27% rated Poor.
Winter Wheat
Winter wheat is 92% headed and 16% harvested nationally. Condition ratings improved marginally with 45% Good, 7% Excellent, 29% Fair, 13% Poor, and 6% Very Poor. Kansas, Texas, and Colorado continue to report highly variable field performance as harvest ramps up.
